Hi, I’m Josh McKenna, the face and camera behind JoshMcKennaPhotography; a photographer based in Melbourne with a speciality portraits and capturing the spectacular skills and creative ability that cosplays present.

My journey with photography started when I was young, always enjoying working my way around a camera, especially of nature and family holidays. As I grew older, this little hobby became a lot more of a passion, to the extent of currently studying a Bachelor of Photography at Collarts.

Whether I'm working with individuals for portrait sessions or collaborating with cosplayers to bring their characters to life, my style really shows off a dreamy, candid style of images. I tend to mainly use natural light for my images but have no issues working my way around artificial light if that is what is needed to get the right image.

Cosplay photography holds a special place in my heart, not just because of the creativity and talent that cosplayers present, but because I love helping some amazing creatives showcase their amazing talent in the outfits that they make. I've been lucky enough to be able to take photos at multiple conventions and events, both in Victoria and interstate, and have been privileged to work with some incredible people in the process.

At the end of the day, my goal is simple: for you to absolutely love and adore your photos. Whether it's a portrait that makes you feel like your best self or a cosplay shot that looks exactly like the source material, I’m here to make it happen. And seeing how happy and amazed at how amazing you look in the photos means absolutely everything to me.
